PMD da Tashan: Taking the AI Music Prompt Series Global

The AI Music Prompt series keeps expanding — this time into Hindi-style vocals and dhol percussion with a track called PMD da Tashan. "Tashan" is Hindi-Punjabi slang for style, swagger, attitude — so the title translates loosely to "PMD's Swagger," which is exactly the energy the track carries.

The artwork alone tells the story before the first beat drops: a traditional dhol drum, tassels and all, rendered in bold monochrome ink-wash style, with the PMD da Tashan wordmark stamped across it like a vinyl label. It's a deliberate visual departure from the ChangingRoom crimson-gold and ValueMe orange palettes — this one leans into cultural specificity rather than brand colour continuity, and it works because the artwork carries its own identity.

The vocals lean into a phonetic, festival-chant style — built around a repeated "chak de" hook, a phrase most recognisable from Bollywood as a rallying cry meaning roughly "let's go" or "give it your all." Layered over driving dhol percussion, it's the kind of hook built for short-form video: instantly rhythmic, easy to loop, and impossible to sit still to.

Two versions were produced from the same prompt: a full-length track for the complete listening experience, and a chopped, shortened cut built specifically for social feeds where the first three seconds decide whether someone keeps scrolling. Producing both from one generation is a practical AI music workflow tip in itself — get the full arrangement right first, then re-cut for the platform rather than re-prompting from scratch.

This is part of a wider multi-language push. Previous entries in this series covered general prompting technique and a worked English-language commercial spot for ChangingRoom PMD. PMD da Tashan pushes the same prompt-engineering approach into a completely different vocal and percussion style, with a Spanish-language version already prepared to follow. Same brand, same tools (Gemini Music), deliberately different cultural textures — proof that once you understand how to prompt for genre, mood, and structure, the technique travels.
